The pure relocation included the re-use of considerable amounts of FF&E which was modified as part of the move. B&W’s scope was increased to include planning the exit of the Carlton Gore Road premises, advising re start up processes to run the new offices and full scheduling and management of the soft fit out.

Canterbury Museum

B&W had the privilege of working with Canterbury Museum to plan and manage the logistics for the relocation of the entire collections of the Canterbury Museum (more than 2.3 million objects). This resulted in approximately 4000 truck movements of precious taonga over a continuous move activity period of seven months. Aligned to an extensive packing programme, large high density shelving systems were dismantled, relocated and assembled along with customised storage solutions and diorama from exhibition spaces. The successful relocation was a result of input from a large number of dedicated subject matter experts and a focussed project team.
National Library of New Zealand
2008-2012
Logistics Project Managers for the exit of all collections and approximately 320 staff from the National Library. The collections were, in the main, packed and relocated to decanting locations in accordance with stringent conditions which were developed, documented and signed off by the client. The collections returned to the refurbished Library in 2012. The physical relocation activity took approximately 6 months for the return alone.
